Overview
First held in 2000, the Busan International Rock Festival is Korea’s first and longest-running international rock festival. In 2026, the 27th edition will take place over three days, from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, at Samnak Eco Park, featuring a diverse lineup of Korean and international artists. Stages set throughout the park will showcase everything from emerging talent to world-renowned headliners. Beyond the performances, visitors can also enjoy a variety of festival attractions, including interactive games, food court lounges, camping zones, and other special side events.

Getting there from Seoul
Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Busan Station, then continue by local subway or bus to Samnak-dong in Sasang-gu, where the park is located. An express or intercity bus from a Seoul bus terminal to one of Busan's bus terminals is a slower, cheaper alternative worth considering if you're travelling with camping gear.
Tips
- Admission is paid, so sort out tickets before you travel.
- Gates run 10:00-22:00 across the three days (Fri Oct 2 - Sun Oct 4, 2026); check last subway/bus times back into central Busan if you aren't using the on-site camping zone.
- Samnak Eco Park is an open-air riverside site with stages spread across the grounds, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a layer for cooler October evenings.

The festival aims to create a fun experience for visitors of all ages, despite the main theme of the festival being beer. Dongnaeeupseong History Festival

The Dongnaeeupseong History Festival is Dongnae-gu’s signature festival combining history education with hands-on experiences. First launched as Chungnyeolje in 1995, the festival is now celebrating its 32nd edition. Recognized as one of Korea’s leading cultural tourism festivals, it invites visitors to experience the vivid history of 1592 through immersive programs and performances. The festival opens with the Dongnae Magistrate Parade, a grand street procession featuring hundreds of participants. The Dongnaeseong Battle Reenactment Musical, staged at the actual site of an Imjin War battle and enhanced with media art, brings the story of Dongnae’s determined resistance vividly to life. Visitors can also join the Dongnae Three-Strand Tug-of-War, a communal event that brings people together, and enjoy contemporary hands-on activities such as an outdoor escape room and snack-making experiences. At Dongnae Market, visitors can carry yeopjeon (traditional coins) into a recreated Joseon-era marketplace and experience daily life as a resident of the old fortress town. Blending history with the future, the festival offers a rich variety of programs and creates special memories for visitors this fall.
