Overview
The Hongseong Global BBQ Festival held in Hongseong, a city of aesthetics, is a festival where visitors can enjoy various barbecue cultures from home and abroad in one place. You can taste unique barbecue dishes based on Hongseong's livestock resources such as Hongseong hanu (Korean beef) and Hongseong handon (Korean pork), and there will also be cooking demonstrations by famous YouTubers and chefs. Various performances such as drone shows, busking performances, and other live music performances, as well as hands-on experiences, are prepared for family visitors, making it a festival that people of all ages can enjoy.

This festival in Hongseong's historic Hongjueupseong Walled Town celebrates barbecue traditions from Korea and abroad, built around the region's own Hongseong hanu (Korean beef) and Hongseong handon (Korean pork). Getting there from Seoul
Take an ITX/Mugunghwa train from Seoul's Yongsan Station on the Janghang Line to Hongseong Station, a journey of roughly two hours. Intercity or express buses to Hongseong's bus terminal also run from Seoul's bus terminals. From either the train station or bus terminal, it's a short taxi or local bus ride into Hongseong-eup to reach the Hongjueupseong Walled Town venue.

- Admission is free, so budget for food and tasting purchases instead.
- The festival runs 20261029–20261101, 10:00–21:00 daily — arrive in the evening to catch the drone shows and live performances.
- Late October to early November in Chungcheongnam-do is cool, especially after dark, so bring a jacket.

The festival combines light, music, and the historic fortress to create a fantastic nighttime scenery and offers content for all generations. During the day, visitors can enjoy sophisticated performances while picnicking, and at night, they can partake in a vibrant evening stroll.

Hongseong Namdang Port Jumbo Shrimp Festival

Namdang Port, located at the west end of Hongseong, is a famous west coast port known for its exceptional seafood. Surrounded by the clean waters of Cheonsuman Bay, Namdang Port is home to a wide array of sea life including blue crab, cockle and webfoot octopus. Namdang Port also draws throngs of visitors from early September to mid-October every year for the country’s largest Jumbo Shrimp Festival.
