Overview
The Jung-gu Book Festival builds on the diverse reading cultures and voices discovered within Jung-gu, bringing them together to foster new connections throughout the district. Presenting the district as a place shaped by layers of stories accumulated over time, the festival traces the time embedded in its alleys, the memories preserved in the old downtown, the lives of its people, and the emotions held by the community. In doing so, it uncovers and connects the stories that already exist within Jung-gu in a different perspective.

The Jung-gu Book Festival gathers the reading cultures and voices of Daejeon's old downtown into one event, tracing the stories held in its alleys and the memories of its long-time residents. It's a community-built festival rather than a large commercial one, set along the historic Seonnidan-gil streets.
Getting there from Seoul
Take the KTX from Seoul Station or Yongsan Station to Daejeon Station (roughly 50 minutes), then a taxi or local bus to Jungang-ro in Jung-gu / Seonnidan-gil. Express buses from Seoul's Central City Terminal to Daejeon's bus terminals are another option.
Tips
- Festival hours are 15:00-21:00 both days, so an afternoon-into-evening visit works best.
- Admission is free, but bring small cash (1,000-5,000 won) for certain programs.
- Combine the festival with a walk through Seonnidan-gil's old alleys, the setting for the event.

The Moonlight Music Festival is a cultural and arts performance series designed to let people enjoy music on autumn nights from September through October in familiar, everyday settings across Daejeon’s five districts. As an open-air event free to all citizens, it will feature a total of five performances—one in each district. Against the backdrop of cool autumn nights, local artists performing a variety of genres will take the stage, alongside performances by popular singers. By adding music to the familiar and comfortable parks and riversides in the city center, the Moonlight Music Festival aims to provide special moments and experiences where families, couples, and friends can enjoy music together and share the joy of live performances as part of their daily lives.
