Overview
Held at the nation’s only filial duty-themed park, Ppuri Park, the Hyo Culture Ppuri Festival is a traditional cultural event dedicated to finding the roots of the ancestry of unique family clans and learning traditional filial piety. The festival features various experiences related to surnames and filial duty, along with popular flea markets and food zones.

Ppuri Park is Korea's only park built around clan and surname heritage, and this festival turns that theme into a hands-on cultural event about tracing family roots and practicing traditional filial piety. Alongside the heritage programming there's a flea market and food zone, so it works as a relaxed half-day out rather than just a heritage lecture. Admission is free.
Getting there from Seoul
Take the KTX (or the slower ITX-Saemaeul) from Seoul Station or Yongsan Station to Daejeon Station, roughly an hour each way. From Daejeon Station, continue to Ppuri Park at 79 Ppurigongwon-ro, Jung-gu by taxi or local bus. An express bus from Seoul's bus terminals to Daejeon is a cheaper but slower alternative to the train.

- Festival hours are 10:00–22:00 daily, October 2–4, 2026; entry is free.
- Set Ppuri Park or the address (79 Ppurigongwon-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon) as your destination for a taxi or map app from Daejeon Station.
- Leave time to browse the flea market and food stalls alongside the surname/filial-duty exhibits.

The Moonlight Music Festival is a cultural and arts performance series designed to let people enjoy music on autumn nights from September through October in familiar, everyday settings across Daejeon’s five districts. As an open-air event free to all citizens, it will feature a total of five performances—one in each district. Against the backdrop of cool autumn nights, local artists performing a variety of genres will take the stage, alongside performances by popular singers. By adding music to the familiar and comfortable parks and riversides in the city center, the Moonlight Music Festival aims to provide special moments and experiences where families, couples, and friends can enjoy music together and share the joy of live performances as part of their daily lives.
